Questions

Is the alternating cable shoulder press good for beginners?

Yes. The cable keeps tension on the shoulder throughout the range, which can feel more controlled for beginners than a heavy overhead barbell press.

What muscles does the alternating cable shoulder press work?

It mainly works the shoulders, with the triceps helping to straighten the elbow as you press each handle overhead.
